Sli Eile
A nice 'flash' animation on the homepage, to give a feeling of the organisation, its people and its goals
Featuring an HTML/CSS world map of Sli Eile's activities - each item linking straight to each one's page within the site.
Sli Eile Website (2007)
A fun looking site for young people for a fun Jesuit organisation called Sli Eile (Trans. 'Another Way').The challenge here was to create a lively, fresh, young-looking design - but not to avoid the religious context. In other words: Be upfront about its Christian/Spiritual purpose - there's nothing cultish about Sli Eile - but keep it cool too.
Also, point up the openness of Sli Eile to people of various faiths and even non-faiths. An important aspect of what they do is volunteer work. This had to be highlighted: volunteering in Zambia, Colombia, Jamaica and South Africa; and closer to home: helping children at risk in Dublin’s north inner city.
For such a small group, the interactive world map used to highlight and preview their many programmes is an impressive device.
Phase II
Budgets allowing, this year might realise their goal to bring more interactivity, discussion, blogging and social networking into the site.
