YSI

Young Social Innovators Website (2005)
This was a really nice project. We were actually in the middle of another incrediby stressful one - oh, the nightmares - when I was inexplicably instructed to come up with completely worked up designs for YSI in an afternoon.
It was completely different from the other more restrained Epic one and was a mixture of unwanted extra pressure and a welcome break. I was surprised at what I produced in 3 or 4 hours.
Design
Virtually no-holds-barred. A designer's dream. It was all playful, frivolous and sprinkled with lovely hand-painted illustrations. It was also heavily colour saturated - another joy to my jaded eyes. Kids are much more open to wild colour and clutter, especially girls it seems. It's funny when I think now that whenever we created sites like this - especially kids' sites - there was more time allowed for design. As if everyone from the boss down was really enjoying the project.
